Why we keep the Watch

Look beyond

Everyone watches the monthly allocation list. But a bottle worth finding can arrive quietly: a Limited Distribution bourbon at a handful of stores, a Trial Distribution release appearing for the first time, or a familiar favorite returning to a nearby shelf.

Utah Bourbon Watch is built around a simple idea: those quieter changes deserve attention, too. The small details can make the difference between overlooking a bottle and knowing where to look.

That is the purpose of the Watch. We follow Utah DABS listings through incoming orders, warehouse inventory and recorded store quantities, then turn those observations into a dispatch you can use.

Bourbon is at the heart of what we do. Our coverage also includes American whiskey, with rye, Tennessee whiskey, sour mash and American single malt identified separately when the source supports it.

We look across distribution statuses, from General Distribution to Limited and Trial listings, special orders and products that are currently unavailable. West Jordan and the southwest Salt Lake Valley get a close look, with recorded observations from stores across Utah.

The goal is useful discovery: a new name to try, a restock near you, or a warehouse lead worth watching. The store explorer adds another way to follow the same reporting, one location at a time.

The details
matter.

A warehouse quantity is a lead, not a promise that a bottle is ready to buy. A first observation does not prove a new arrival. Every published record should tell you when it was checked, and coverage gaps should be visible.

That is why our reports keep dates, distribution categories and store observations attached to the numbers. Inventory changes, and DABS release restrictions still apply. Check current availability before making a trip.
